Terms of service
These terms govern the use of the Timr shift management system and form the agreement between Timr and the subscribing company.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These terms apply to all use of Timr, whether through timr.is, app.timr.is or the employee mobile app. By creating an account, subscribing or using the system you accept them on your own behalf and on behalf of the company you represent. If you do not accept them, do not use the system.
2. The service
Timr is subscription software for shift planning, time tracking, holiday and pay data for Icelandic workplaces. We continue to develop the system and may add, change or withdraw features. Where a feature a subscriber relies on is withdrawn, we give reasonable notice.
3. Accounts and users
The subscriber is responsible for the accounts created under its company and for the accuracy of the information entered. Credentials must not be shared, and the subscriber must notify Timr without delay if it suspects unauthorised access. The subscriber is responsible for all activity carried out under its company's accounts.
4. Free trial
New subscribers get a 30-day free trial with no card details required. The trial carries no commitment and can be ended at any time. Once it ends, an active subscription is required to keep using the system.
5. Pricing and plans
Plan prices are published on timr.is and are in Icelandic króna. Unless stated otherwise, prices exclude VAT. Each plan includes a maximum number of registered employees. Timr may change its pricing and will notify subscribers of price changes at least 30 days in advance; the change takes effect at the start of the next billing period.
6. Payment and renewal
Subscriptions are paid in advance, monthly or annually at the subscriber's choice, and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Card payments are stored and handled by our payment provider; Timr does not store card numbers. If a payment fails, the subscriber is notified and given reasonable time to settle it before access is restricted.
7. Changing plan
A subscriber can change plan in the company settings. An upgrade takes effect immediately and unlocks the features and employee count of the new plan. A downgrade takes effect at the start of the next billing period. The number of registered employees must fit within the plan chosen.
8. Cancellation
A subscriber may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and access continues unchanged until then. The subscriber can export its data in a machine-readable format before access ends. Timr may terminate the service on 30 days' notice, or without notice if the subscriber materially breaches these terms.
9. Subscriber data and privacy
The subscriber is the controller of the personal data it enters about its employees, and Timr processes that data solely as a processor on the subscriber's instructions. The subscriber is responsible for, among other things:
- Having a lawful basis for the data it enters, including Icelandic ID numbers.
- Informing its employees that working time and, where applicable, location are recorded, and for what purpose.
- Using location verification only for legitimate purposes and no further than necessary.
- Keeping records accurate and deleting data about employees who leave.
The processing is described in more detail in Timr's privacy policy.
10. Prohibited use
Timr must not be used:
- For anything that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others.
- To attempt to reach another company's data in the system or to circumvent security measures.
- To place an unreasonable load on the system, such as automated requests beyond normal use.
- For resale, or to give a third party access to the system without an agreement with Timr.
11. Availability and maintenance
Timr works to keep the system available around the clock but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Planned maintenance that affects availability is announced in advance where practicable and carried out outside normal working hours as far as possible. Outages caused by events outside Timr's control, such as failures at a hosting or telecommunications provider, are not Timr's responsibility.
12. Intellectual property
Timr — including the software, the interface, the trademark and the content Timr publishes — belongs to Timr and is protected by intellectual property rights. The subscriber receives a right of use while the subscription is active but acquires no rights in the software. Data the subscriber enters remains the subscriber's property.
13. Liability
Timr is not liable for indirect loss, including loss of business, loss of data or loss of goodwill. Timr's total liability for loss arising from the service is limited to the amount the subscriber paid for the subscription in the twelve months before the loss occurred. These limitations do not apply to loss caused by intent or gross negligence.
The subscriber is responsible for reviewing the system's calculations before wages are paid. Timr is a tool that supports payroll; it does not replace the employer's responsibility for paying wages correctly.
14. Changes to these terms
Timr may change these terms. Material changes are notified to subscribers by email or in-app message at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the system after a change takes effect counts as acceptance. A subscriber who does not accept a change may cancel before it takes effect.
15. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by Icelandic law. Any dispute that cannot be settled by agreement shall be brought before the District Court of Reykjavík (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur).
